Preventative Dentistry
Establishing preventative care early is important in maintaining your child’s teeth healthy and cavity free
At Brush and Play, we are dedicated to the oral health of your children from infancy through the teen years. We strongly emphasize preventative care. Routine screenings, tests, and exams can keep us from developing disease and illness and keep us healthy.
Routine Care Visits
Routine care visit usually consist of dental cleaning, exam, fluoride treatment and x rays (if necessary). Routine care visits allow us to check on your child’s growth and oral health. Cavities and dental diseases are preventable; therefore, we want to work on preventing cavities early. Dental visits as early as age one and at least twice a year is recommended by American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Steve can tell you when and how often your child needs to visit based on their personal oral health.
Sealants
Dental sealants are a preventative (white or clear) coating placed on molars to prevent the dental cavity. The coating is easily applied to a clean surface. They are effective in preventing dental decay.
